'A Child's Dream' - Dante Galic exhibits at Otterup Geværfabrik

Experience the young artist Dante Galic's exhibition 'A Child's Dream' at Otterup Geværfabrik, where childhood dreams meet surrealist art and sustainable materials.

Galleri Nijenkamp presents: Dante Galic exhibits at Otterup Geværfabrik in collaboration with Nordfyn Business and Tourism

Galleri Nijenkamp invites you to a unique exhibition by the talented young artist Dante Galic at Otterup Geværfabrik (the old rifle factory). Despite being only 28 years old, Dante has already established himself as one of Denmark's most promising artists, with works featured in some of the country’s most prestigious collections.

Dante’s artistic style is inspired by Goya and combines surrealist elements with a clear fascination for comics. As a pioneer in sustainable art, Dante is one of the first artists in the world to create his works with full attention to sustainability. He makes his own pigments, paints on organic linen and hemp, and uses recycled paper for his watercolors. The frames are made of sustainable European wood and upcycled boat wood from Indonesia.

The exhibition "A Child's Dream" delves into the theme of childhood dreams – the worlds we imagined and the people we aspired to be. Through his works, Dante captures the essence of these dreams, combining neogrotesque elements with a playful approach inspired by comics, films, and his own travels and experiences.

The setting for the exhibition is the old rifle factory in Otterup, founded in 1904 and known worldwide for its handcrafted rifles. The factory closed in 1994, and today the industrial halls host concerts and art exhibitions. In 2019, there was a large retrospective exhibition of Ole Ahlberg's works at the factory, and in 2021, the exhibition "Kvium Collected" featuring works by Michael Kvium was showcased.
