Experience Nature at Nørreby Shelter

Need a break from everyday life and a night under the open sky? Then Nørreby Shelter is the perfect place for you. The shelter is located in the small, cozy village of Nørreby on the north coast of Funen.

Built by local enthusiasts, the shelter is located on the outskirts of the village by the old grocery store building. From the shelter, you have easy access to a wide range of nature experiences, including:

  • The coastal path at Nørreby Hals: Follow the beautiful coastal path north and enjoy the fresh sea air and stunning coastal landscape.
  • The Nørreby Hals nature area: Explore the diverse nature area with its salt marshes, dunes, forests, and lakes.
  • St. Olaf's spring: Discover one of Funen's few holy springs at Klinte Church 1.2 km from the shelter and feel the breath of history.
  • Nærå Beach: Visit the reclaimed landscape at Nærå Beach 5 km from the shelter and experience a unique ecosystem.

Practical info

  • Capacity: The shelter has space for approximately 6 people.
  • Access: The shelter cannot be booked. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Toilet: A toilet is accessible year-round (April 1 - November 1: Toilet wagon at the shop, rest of the year: toilet at Klinte Church, approx. 1.2 km from the shelter).
  • Water: Water can be found at Klinte Church, approx. 1.2 km from the shelter.
  • Fire: There is no campfire, so please bring your own cooking equipment.
  • Parking: There is ample parking at the shelter.
  • Bicycle repair: A bicycle repair station allows you to make minor repairs to your bike.
  • Information: An information board gives you the opportunity to learn more about the area and the Pilot Nature Park North Funen.
