The Watchman’s Path in Bogense
Here the path once went around the entire old town of Bogense - today you can still follow in the footsteps of the watchmen on part of the path system.
The Watchman’s Path along the town brook was once part of the old system of paths that led around the old market town.
Here the watchman went on his rounds every night to keep an eye out for dangers - fire, theft or worse - to keep the town safe.
You can for instance follow the path next to Adelgade 89 and by the path between Vestergade next to / in front of Vestre Havnevej and Jernbanegade.
In front of iron foundry owner Jørgensen’s wall from 1890, a sluice gate was erected, with room for washing clothes and access to water in the event of fire.
There are small passages from the main street.
