The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year. The Vikings celebrated the solstice. They sacrificed to the gods, feasted and drank Jól. This weekend, we'll show you some of the traditions of celebrating the winter solstice and the pagan Jól here in the Nordic countries at winter time. There will be short presentations, storytelling, family activities and roasts and bream by the fireplaces.
